Last month, Bedrock and the Rocket Community Fund announced a major investment to transform the Cuyahoga Riverfront in downtown Cleveland. More than just a public space transformation, this “Vision for the Valley” includes a commitment to work alongside community groups and stakeholders to invest in every aspect of Cleveland – especially its residents. Today, the Rocket Community Fund is proud to share a key piece of that vision: the launch of our flagship Neighbor to Neighbor program in Cleveland.
Since 2017, Neighbor to Neighbor has been a foundational piece of our housing stability work in Detroit. At its core, Neighbor to Neighbor is a citywide door-to-door campaign that connects local Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and other canvassers with the residents they support.
In Detroit, Neighbor to Neighbor has been the basis for our ongoing tax foreclosure prevention and reform efforts, helping achieve a 94% reduction in the number of occupied homes entering property tax foreclosure. In Cleveland, this innovative approach will allow us to tackle a different set of challenges informed directly by community feedback.
