Rocket Companies team members are passionate about making a positive impact and their dedication shows in how they support our communities through our volunteering and giving efforts. Last month, we hit a major milestone when we announced that we reached 1 million total volunteer hours nationwide!
How did we get there? 150,583 volunteer events at 4,813 organizations where our team members dedicated themselves to cleaning up our parks, mentoring students, packing food for families in need, building homes for residents and so much more!
To celebrate this important achievement, we decided to surprise the dedicated band of volunteers who put us over the top. This group of Detroit-based Rocket Companies team members from various business areas and companies volunteered to support Lafayette Greens on a rainy summer day.
Our Executive Director, Laura Grannemann, and Rocket Central Chief Amazement Officer, Mike Malloy, showed up at the event to share the exciting news, then led them to a big celebration we orchestrated nearby. Even better, we invited all our Detroit-based team members to come celebrate with us.
Everyone enjoyed fun games, summer treats, and some cool new swag, while listening to remarks from Rocket Companies CEO Bill Emerson. Team members at our other locations also had the opportunity to celebrate with activations in their home market.
This 1 million volunteer hour celebration would of course not be possible without the efforts of our team members, who are devoted to making a difference in the communities we call home. We’re looking forward to seeing how quickly we can reach 2 million hours!
In the meantime, watch this video to learn more about our impact and how our team members felt about being part of the crew that reached this amazing milestone.
